Jad Atoui, a Beirut-based sound artist and improviser, explores a diverse landscape of creative expression spanning live performance, composition, installations, and workshops. His focus on electronic and electro-acoustic music merges with influences from experiences within New York's avant-garde scene, where he learned improvised music techniques and worked at The Stone and The Guggenheim Museum.

Performing and collaborating with musiucians like John Zorn, Laurie Anderson, Pauline Oliveros, and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Atoui's work extends across residencies at institutions such as The Stone and The National Sawdust, as well as the CTM festival, crafting sound compositions for ensembles like Yarn/Wire and Distractfold.

In 2015, Atoui embarked on the pioneering "Biosonics" project with scientist Ivan Marazzi, integrating bio-sonification into compositional techniques, a venture later featured in John Zorn's Arcana Book Vol. XVIII and premiered at The National Sawdust.

Atoui has been involved in various music projects, releasing music as a solo musician and collaborating with other artists like Anthony Sahyouni in "NP", Chuck Bettis, Sharif Sehanoui, the Kinematic Ensemble, and a trio including Anthony Sahyoun and Sandy Chammoun, who are about to release their first trio album.
